Use Secure Domain Names to authorize network connections with users and devices.

Once communication is authorized, the Secure Domain Name is resolved to a private IP address enabling point-to-point, encrypted communications between users and devices.

The Gabriel Secure Domain Name Service (SDNS)

The Gabriel Secure Domain Name Service (SDNS) uses digital certificates to cryptographically authenticate and authorize user communications.

Once communication is authorized, the Secure Domain Name is resolved to a private IP address enabling point-to-point, encrypted communications between users and devices.

What Makes Up a Secure Domain Name?

A Secure Domain Name is comprised of four components:

Device

Identifies the specific client device or server running Gabriel. Individual users can have multiple client devices. Gabriel runs on Windows, Linux, macOS, iOS and Android devices.

User

Domain administrators create individual users and set security policies that provide access to applications, services and data. Authentication and authorization to these services is performed each time a VPN connection is initiated.

Domain

Create a custom domain name that identifies your organization and groups your users and devices. Set domain specific security policies to control access to your applications and services.

Top-Level Domain (TLD)

Select a top-level domain (TLD) based on the type of organization and your location. The top level domains we offer are private and can only be purchased through VirnetX or our partners.

How does Gabriel Secure Domain Name Service differ from the Domain Name System?

The Domain Name System (DNS) helps you resolve a domain name (e.g. .com, .net, .org) to a public IP address. Unfortunately, these DNS queries respond to all name resolution requests with unencrypted data making it easy for DNS providers to track requests and hackers to identify target computers.

Gabriel’s Secure Domain Name System (SDNS) is encrypted and only responds to authenticated and authorized requesters, thereby blocking out any requests by hackers and other unauthorized requesters.

The top-level Gabriel Secure Domains are prefixed with an ‘s’ to differentiate name resolution (e.g. .scom, .snet, .sorg).

Where can I purchase a secure domain name?

Gabriel Secure Domain Name’s can be purchased through our website or from one of our Partners. Typically, customers select a Secure Domain that reflects their organization or business name and is similar to their public domain name.

Once you purchase a Secure Domain, you’ll need to purchase client licenses based on the Gabriel products and services you are interested in using.

Can I choose any secure domain name?

We believe that secure network communications should involve each party having an authenticated identity of the other party; therefore, we reserve the right to reject a registration that misrepresents or fails to provide the applicant’s correct identity.
